In this video, you can see the difference between using rigid connectors (lower stiffness) and side bracing (increased stiffness) on the dynamic response of a two-floor structure. The Mola kit is mounted on the Quanser Shake Table I-40 and subjected it to a 3 Hz, 1 cm displacement sinusoid. The braced structure holds up pretty well, while the integrity of the structure with rigid connectors was immediately compromised!
